The Blocks collection, designed exclusively for Folks, illustrates visual artist Cécile Meynier’s practice, navigating between sculpture and the utilitarian. The Blocks, inspired by children’s building blocks, are geometric elements that can be combined as you wish. The colorful and hyper-structured landscape that then emerges evokes the matt and velvety facades of contemporary yet welcoming architecture. The earthenware pieces are handmade. The paint is applied with a spray gun, the interior is varnished and the whole piece is rendered water-repellent so that a reliable, long-term seal is guaranteed. Each piece is unique and created instinctively.
Cécile Meynier is a visual artist whose practice involves ceramics. We imagined this collection of Block vases together, useful scluptures that call to mind architecture and building facades.
