The cushions are hand painted with acrylic paint and a textile binder so that the paint adheres as much as possible to the canvas. The ecru and brown fabrics are vintage canvases which have been washed and ironed before assembly.
After 3 years of craftsmanship at the famous Boulle school in Paris, Pia Chevalier trained in industrial design in Montreal and then obtained a master’s degree in product design.
She now creates objects that vacillate between unique pieces and art objects. All her designs evolve over time depending on the usage and the material’s characteristics: material defects, tendency to ware and entropy all lead her to embrace the unexpected and the ephemeral.

Iron on the reverse and dry clean to avoid damaging the paint.
Working with ceramics, brass and steel, Pia Chevalier dreams up pieces that bridge the gap between everyday objects and works of art. Her sculptural creations will provide an artistic touch to your interiors. As part of her creative process, she is mindful of the idea that her pieces will evolve over time, depending on how they are used and the particular patina that their materials take on, embracing the flaws of her chosen mediums and their tendency to degrade.
